Kumram Bheem Asifabad: A 19-year-old degree student accidentally drowned in Peddavagu rivulet when he ventured to swim in it, on the outskirts of Namanagar village in Kagaznagar mandal on Sunday.
Easgaon Sub-Inspector A Sandeep Kumar said that the deceased was Kota Uday Kumar, degree I year student from Vijay Basti in Kagaznagar town.
Uday met with the watery grave when he ventured to swim at a deepest spot of the rivulet even though he did not know swimming. He was partying with his classmates at the time of the incident. His friends tried to rescue him, but in vain. He was shifted to a hospital where doctors declared him brought dead.
Lokesh, cousin brother of Uday lodged a complaint with police. A case was registered and investigation is underway.
