Kumram Bheem Asifabad: BRS MLA Kova Lakshmi consoled family members of a minor girl who was raped by her neighbour at a village in Asifabad mandal on Sunday.
Lakshmi assured all support to the family members of the minor girl. She termed the incident as unfortunate and instructed police to investigate the incident thoroughly and to ensure that the culprit was punished. She expressed concern over growing crimes against women in the district.
The girl from a government school was raped by a 28-year-old man when her parents were not present on Friday. However, neighbours raised an alarm and nabbed the accused, who was handed over the man to police. The accused person, Bommena Sagar was arrested and sent to judicial custody on Saturday.
