Astro turf football stadium to come up in Gajwel: TS Sports Minister

After a review meeting at his chamber, Srininvas Goud said Gajwel is located close to Hyderabad and wants to make it a hub for sports.

Hyderabad: State Sports Minister V Srinivas Goud on Monday said that the government is going to construct a football stadium with astro turf in Gajwel. He revealed that the Chief Minister K Chandra Shekhar Rao directed them to make Gajwel a sports hub in the near future.

After a review meeting at his chamber, Srininvas Goud said Gajwel is located close to Hyderabad and wants to make it a hub for sports. They also decided to construct a cricket stadium, Games Village and the Minister wrote a letter to the district collector to allot 50 acres of land in the town for the sports facilities.

The Minster also presented V Pratap Reddy, the TSFDC Chairman and Gajwel constituency in charge, with a GO releasing Rs 2 cr for the football academy construction.
