Hyderabad: Union Coal Minister and BJP State president G Kishan Reddy on Wednesday urged Governor Jishnu Dev Varma to seek a report from the Telangana government about the attack carried out by the Youth Congress functionaries on the State BJP office on Tuesday.

In a letter addressed to the Governor, Kishan Reddy said the action of the Youth Congress activists had created a law and order problem in the State capital and urged him to direct the government to take measures to improve the atmosphere in the State. In the attack several senior BJP leaders were injured and that an atmosphere of lawlessness prevailed in the State, he said.

What was baffling was the fact that the attack happened when the police were there and they remained mute spectator for a long period, he said, adding that it appears that the police and the attackers had a tacit understanding and everything was carried out in a planned manner.

He urged the Governor to intervene in the matter and direct the State government to take measures to maintain law and order in the State. He also appealed to the Governor to seek a report on the incident at the earliest.
