Hyderabad: IT and Industries Minister KT Rama Rao on Wednesday directed the officials to ensure that the various districts in the State attract investments to facilitate decentralisation of industrial development and equitable growth of all areas in the State. He suggested that they consult various companies which were keen to invest in Telangana, and persuade them to support the State government’s efforts for industrial decentralisation by setting up their proposed units in different districts.
He said several Ministers and MLAs had already submitted details of land availability in their respective Assembly constituencies to the State government.
In a review meeting here, the Minister reviewed several proposals for investment in Telangana State where the officials explained about many companies which were showing interest to invest heavily in the priority sectors of the Telangana government, such as food processing, IT, aerospace and defense, and pharma and life sciences among others.
“The state government’s objective is to set up industries across the State and to that extent industrial decentralisation was needed and in view of this, the respective companies should be asked to shift the proposed units to different districts,” he said. As the elected representatives have already submitted the details of lands available, he suggested that efforts should be made to divert these investments to such areas.
