Australia-based techie with Hyderabad roots feared missing in Nepal flash floods

A techie from Australia with Hyderabad roots has gone missing after flash floods struck the Nepal-Tibet border region on August 26. Identified as K Suhasini Reddy, she had travelled to Nepal for a pilgrimage to Manasarovar.

Hyderabad: A 44-year-old software engineer from Australia with roots in Hyderabad, identified as K Suhasini Reddy, has gone missing after devastating flash floods hit the Nepal-Tibet border region on August 26.  Her family is now anxiously awaiting information about her whereabouts. 

Suhasini, who is currently working as a software engineer in Australia, had returned to Hyderabad earlier this month for the house-warming of a new home in LB Nagar.

She left for Delhi on August 23 and travelled onward to Kathmandu, where she joined a friend from Australia for a pilgrimage to Mount Kailash-Manasarovar.

As per reports, her family said they had last spoken to her on the evening of August 25. She was expected to proceed towards an immigration centre near the Nepal-China border the following morning when the flash floods struck the region.

The family has been contacting authorities in an effort to establish her whereabouts and is prepared to travel to Nepal if required.

Suhasini’s family continues to hope that she may have been rescued or taken to a safe location and is awaiting confirmation from the authorities.
