Khammam: An auto mobile exhibition cum interaction programme was organised for Dalit Bandhu beneficiaries from Chintakani mandal here on Thursday.
As many as 22 dealers of different automobile companies took part in the exhibition at SR&BGNR College. Addressing the gathering District Collector VP Gautham told beneficiaries to choose units based on their expertise, skills and market demand.
He informed that Chintakani mandal was selected for implementing Dalit Bandhu Scheme on pilot basis and all dalit families in the mandal have been selected under the scheme. Bank accounts for all beneficiaries opened and Rs 10 lakh would be credited into the accounts soon.
The exhibition was conducted to help the beneficiaries, who preferred the transport sector, to learn about purchase quotations of different companies and vehicles at one place instead of visiting showrooms. It also helps beneficiaries to get their queries cleared, Gautham said.
Those who have prior experience in the transport field could ground units immediately. Two or three persons could set up units collectively. Since the extent of paddy cultivation increased in the State, there was a good demand for harvesters and JCBs, he noted.
The RTO T Kishan Rao explained about the process of getting licenses, vehicle registration and District Agriculture Officer Vijayanirmala explained about harvesters to the beneficiaries at the programme.
Later in the day the Collector held a meeting with bankers and told them to submit the list of beneficiaries’ accounts. The beneficiaries have to be explained that facilities like online transaction, ATM card and mobile transactions would not be offered to them under the scheme accounts.
