Hyderabad: Twenty new emerging technologies will impact business functions. All, either directly or indirectly, affect the accounting profession and accounting function within the business, stated Gaurav Kapur, Head Policy, ACCA India.
Kapur participated as a chief guest in a one-day national e-conference on ‘Emerging Trends in Accounting’ organised by the GITAM Hyderabad Business School (GHBS) recently.
Based on the research, he stressed the importance of Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Automation, Cloud Computing, Accounting Analytics and Big Data in accounting which were much involved in today’s business environment.
It would take more time for the business and accounting profession to acquaint with these fast-emerging technologies, Kapur said.
Indian Bank Zonal Office, chief manager, credit, Ashish Guljar stressed the use of these new technologies in the present-day business environment. Automation and AI was the need of the hour for the banking industry, he said
Pro Vice Chancellor, professor N Siva Prasad spoke about the importance of emerging trends in accounting such as cloud accounting, machine learning, automation in accounting, AI in accounting which were helpful to carry out repetitive tasks and improve the efficiency of business operations, particularly in the accounting area.

The MAB final year students of GHBS celebrated the ethnic day on the college campus recently. The celebration was exuberant, ethnic and memorable for all students. It focused on carrying forward the tradition of India and its diversity.
