Akshara Vaagdevi International School in collaboration with Pallavi Model schools conducted a special Summer Day celebration for the tiny tots of PP1 and PP2 recently.
Guided by pre-primary teachers Pinky, Swetha, and Saroja and supported by parents on virtual mode, there were various fun and exciting activities that were a part of the celebration. The tiny tots were taught how to prepare a milkshake with the king of fruits- mango.
They also had a fan-making art activity to help them beat the heat! The students of PP2 were also taught how to prepare lemonade to have a cool summer and also learnt origami by making cool Googles for their summer look.
They wore the googles and posed for cool summer pictures. The students of both classes loved doing their activities and enjoyed them thoroughly. Indeed it was a scintillating and fun-filled day for them.
Children were advised to wear cotton clothes as it is the season of excessive heat which causes sweating. Cotton fabric helps absorb sweat and keeps the body cool.
They were advised to keep themselves hydrated and apply sunscreen to avoid sunburns. Children were also asked to enjoy eating other summer fruits like cucumber, plums, jackfruits, peaches, lichee, muskmelon, watermelon, honeydew melon, and many more healthy foods.
Principal Vanaja Madam spoke on the importance of being at home during the pandemic and staying safe.
Parents were recommended to engage children with lots of indoor activities to stay physically fit and mentally active.
