As the Japanese proverb goes – “Better than a thousand days of diligent study is one day with a great Teacher”. Despite the perturbation caused by Covid-19, teachers have persevered, with the best interests of students at the top of their minds. In 2020, lockdown 1.0 was a novel concept for society as a whole.

It was uncharacteristic to sit at home all day and attend classes online. This year, while the situation hasn’t changed much, we’ve grown accustomed to it in a way. It was the same with the teaching fraternity. Last year, teachers, who were used to the chalk and board, were made to switch over to online modes of teaching. Technology became an indispensable part of education. Overnight, online classes expected teachers to be tech-savvy. The transition from teaching in the classroom to teaching online was arduous. Yet, teachers at Akshara Vaagdevi International School in collaboration with Pallavi Groups of Education adapted well and have delivered.

Even after the summer holidays, these testing times are expected to continue. However, after building on last year’s experiences and persevering together, AVIS is more equipped and ready for this year. Teachers have taken the initiative to enroll themselves in several courses, participated in various webinars and workshops organised in collaboration with Pallavi Group of Schools, to upskill and be equipped. AVIS expects its students to seize this opportunity and continue to persevere for an enriching and fulfilling summer holidays. The entire AVIS team urges you to stay safe during these pandemic times and follow all the Government guidelines and safety protocols.

No wonder, NASA named its Mars rover Perseverance, which touched down on Mars on February 18, 2021. Why don’t you find out what is meant by Ingenuity and its link to the Mars rover?

Rajkumari and Sreeja,
