Suryapet: Suryapet Municipal officials on Sunday conducted a door-to-door campaign to create awareness among the people on the importance of maintaining cleanliness on the premises of their houses as well as in colonies.
The municipality staff, under the supervision of Suryapet Municipality Executive Engineer G J D Prasad, conducted the campaign at R K Plaza and 60 feet road as a part of Swachh Survekshan 2020-21.
Speaking on the occasion, Prasad said people should keep medical wastes, dry and wet wastes in separate baskets, which would be collected from their doorsteps by sanitation workers. He said the municipality has already distributed three baskets to each house in the town free of cost. It would help in segregation of wastes for processing and recycling, he said, adding that people’s cooperation was required for segregation of wastes and that it starts at the level of individual houses. “Cleanliness in colonies will create a healthy atmosphere all around,” he said.
