Hyderabad: It is important to be aware that road traffic injuries remain an important public health problem. Bridging the gap between community and traffic police, the Hyderabad City Security Council (HCSC) manned the Nampally Control Room Junction and Ravindra Bharti Junction, along with their traffic volunteers (Traffic Farishtey), on Sunday.
A total of 50 volunteers, both men and women, participated in the event and educated commuters about the importance of road safety. They also made them aware of traffic rules such as wearing helmets, seat-belt, lane maintenance and stopping before the white line, etc.
Speaking on the occasion, Piyush Agarwal, Joint Secretary, Traffic Forum HCSC, said that he is hoping for more volunteers from the community to come forward and be a part of HCSC to make Hyderabad the best city in the world.
