The former left-handed Tamil Nadu batsman played under Azhar during the New Zealand tour in 1990. Azhar has high regards for Raman’s knowledge of the game wherein he mentioned in the tweet that there are very few sharper brains than him and he has many years of experience.
Azhar felt that Hyderabad, which is doing very badly in the domestic tournaments in the last few seasons, needs the services of the caliber of Raman. He felt the Hyderabad team will benefit in Raman’s presence as coach.
Raman replied to Azhar’s tweet: “Thanks Azzu. Mighty generous of you.”
