Bachupally woman kills two children by throwing them into water sump, attempts suicide
A woman in Bachupally killed her two children by throwing them into a water sump before attempting suicide on Tuesday night. Identified as Lakshmi, she was rescued by locals. Police retrieved the bodies, registered a case, and suspect family issues led to the act.
Hyderabad: A woman killed her two children by throwing them in a water sump and later tried to end her life allegedly due to family issues at Bachupally on Tuesday night.
The woman, identified as Lakshmi, stayed with her family at Bachupally. On Tuesday night, she threw her two children, Subash (8) and Arun (3), in a water sump located in front of her house. Later, she too jumped into the water sump but was saved by local people.
The police on information reached the spot and retrieved the bodies of the children from the water sump and shifted them to Gandhi Hospital mortuary. Lakshmi was shifted to a hospital for treatment. A case is registered.
The local people told the police that Lakshmi slipped into depression over some family issues and might have took the drastic step over it.
