Bada Suranna receives Vangapandu memorial award

AP Tourism Minister Avanti Srinivasa Rao gave away the award which carries Rs.2 lakh cash at a function held at the VMRDA Children's Arena

Visakhapatnam: Hero of ‘Bhoomi Bhaagotam’ play, Bada Suranna, received the inaugural Vangapandu Prasadarao memorial award here on Wednesday.

Tourism Minister Avanti Srinivasa Rao gave away the award which carries Rs. 2 lakh cash at a function held at the VMRDA Children’s Arena.

Balladeer Gaddar, who gave several performances in the company of late Vangapandu and also sang many folk songs penned by the latter, film actor R. Narayanamurthi, Mayor Hari Venkatakumari, Official Language chairman Yarlagadda Lakshmi Prasad, and others paid tributes to Vangapandu on the occasion.
