Bajaj Finance shares jump 7 per cent after strong Q1 results

Bajaj Finance shares surged 7 per cent on Friday after the NBFC reported a 28 per cent year-on-year rise in June-quarter consolidated profit to Rs 6,081 crore. The company also posted strong income growth and improved asset quality during the quarter

New Delhi: Shares of NBFC Bajaj Finance on Friday jumped 7 per cent after the firm reported a 28 per cent year-on-year rise in consolidated profit after tax (PAT) for the June quarter of FY27.

The stock surged 6.81 per cent to Rs 1,128, its 52-week high, on the BSE.


At the NSE, the stock climbed 7 per cent to its 52-week high of Rs 1,128.10.

Bajaj Finance on Thursday reported a 28 per cent year-on-year rise in consolidated profit after tax (PAT) to Rs 6,081 crore for the June quarter of FY27, driven by growth in core income and improvement in asset quality.

The company posted a PAT of Rs 4,765 crore in the corresponding quarter of the previous financial year.

Net interest income grew 23 per cent to Rs 12,571 crore during the April-June period of FY27, compared with Rs 10,228 crore in the year-ago period, Bajaj Finance said in a stock exchange filing.

The NBFC’s net total income climbed 22 per cent to Rs 15,224 crore during the quarter under review from Rs 12,460 crore in the year-ago period.

The company’s asset quality strengthened, with gross non-performing assets improving to 0.96 per cent as of June 30, 2026, from 1.03 per cent a year earlier, while net non-performing assets dropped to 0.39 per cent from 0.50 per cent during the same period.
