Hyderabad: Former BRS MLA Balka Suman demanded the State government to immediately accord financial sanction to fill two lakh government jobs, as promised by the Congress during the elections. He said the State government was diverting public attention from its failure to provide government jobs, unemployment allowance and other electoral promises.

Speaking to mediapersons at Telangana Bhavan on Monday, Suman criticised the Congress government and Chief Minister Revanth Reddy for failing to deliver on promises pertaining to government jobs and unemployment. The Chief Minister was instead busy carrying moneybags to please his Delhi bosses, he said, pointing out that in the last 10 months of Congress rule, no job notification was issued.

“Instead, Chief Minister Revanth Reddy has donned the role of an event manager by distributing appointment letters for jobs filled during the previous BRS regime,” he said.

The former MLA said the Congress leaders including Rahul Gandhi and Priyanka Gandhi, had released the Hyderabad Youth Declaration with promises to provide two lakh jobs with a job calendar, unemployment allowance, electric scooters for girls aged over 18 and others. But none of these promises had materialised even after 10 months of the Congress rule, he said, adding that neither the Chief Minister nor his Cabinet colleagues were willing to even meet the unemployed to share their grievances.
