Bandi Sanjay demands CBI probe into Tirupati laddu adulteration issue
Sanjay wrote to Chandrababu Naidu to conduct a comprehensive probe into the allegations and take action against persons responsible for the adulteration of the Tirupati laddus.
Hyderabad: Amid allegations that animal fat was used in the making of Tirupati laddus, union Minister of State for Home Bandi Sanjay demanded that the Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu order Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) probe into the matter to uncover the truth and take strong action against those responsible.
On Friday, Sanjay wrote to Chandrababu Naidu to conduct a comprehensive probe into the allegations and take action against persons responsible for the adulteration of the Tirupati laddus.
The alleged use of animal fat in making the laddu was a deep betrayal of faith and trust of Hindus who pray to Lord Venkateswara, he said, adding that the issue had affected the sentiments of millions of devotees of Lord Sri Venkateshwara Swamy and Hindus all over the world.
“Adding animal fat being used in laddu is a deep betrayal of faith and trust to Hindus who pray to Tirumala Venkateswara Swamy. God will not forgive for this massive betrayal to Hindus,” he said.
In the past, BJP had raised concerns that allowing individuals from other communities and atheists as employees and also into the TTD board would lead to corruption and disrespect towards beliefs of Hindus, he recalled.
“It is the responsibility of the State government to put political interests aside and serve the sentiments of all the Hindus of the world.
A thorough investigation should be ordered immediately and strict measures should be taken to ensure that those who are found to be guilty are punished according to law, irrespective of who they are and what party they belong to,”he said.
