Hyderabad: Telangana BJP State president Bandi Sanjay Kumar on Wednesday flayed the Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao for coming up with a proposal to revise the new Constitution. The BJP MPs led by Sanjay staged a demonstration at Telangana Bhavan in New Delhi on Wednesday to protest against the Chief Minister’s remarks.
The leaders later did ‘palabhishekam’ to the statue of Dr. BR Ambedkar. The Chief Minister’s proposal for drafting a new Constitution was nothing but a conspiracy hatched against the Central government. “Being a Chief Minister, how can he make such proposals?” Sanjay asked.
He said the BJP leaders from Telangana would take part in a deeksha at the State party office in Nampally on Thursday from 11 am to 5 pm to protest against the Chief Minister’s remarks. Sanjay said the party would intensify agitation against the Chief Minister on the issue. He sought to know as to why the ruling party failed to complete the works pertaining to installation of the 125- feet high statue of Ambedkar in Hyderabad.
The Chief Minister humiliated Ambedkar, who was the architect of Indian Constitution, by failing to attend his birth anniversary celebrations every year. It was the BJP, which recognized the services of Ambedkar, and conferred him with the country’s prestigious award – Bharat Ratna, Sanjay added.
