Karimnagar: Union Minister of State for Home Bandi Sanjay Kumar on Monday criticised some Telangana Ministers for allegedly harassing women officers by summoning them to their residences and offices at night.
Citing recent media reports, Sanjay Kumar said it was shameful that Ministers were troubling female officers instead of respecting their hard work and dedication. “It is not proper to humiliate women officers who reached such positions through sheer merit and effort,” he remarked.
He demanded that Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy conduct an inquiry into the allegations and sack the Ministers involved. The Union Minister made these comments after unveiling the ‘Sardar@150 Unity March’ wall poster in Karimnagar.
Turning his attention to the law and order situation, Sanjay Kumar alleged that public safety had collapsed under the Congress regime. “There is no security to the people. A rowdy sheeter killed a police constable in Nizamabad, while in Hyderabad, DCP Chaitanya and a constable were attacked by another rowdy sheeter. In yet another incident, a gau rakshak was shot. Still, the government remains indifferent,” he said.
