Hyderabad: Telangana State BJP president Bandi Sanjay Kumar on Tuesday welcomed the announcement by Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao in the State Assembly to reinstate field assistants.

In a statement issued here, he said the party fought in support of field assistants and demanded that the State government reinstate them and letters were also written to the Chief Minister in this regard.

On the same lines, the State government must reinstate 12,000 vidya volunteers, 22,000 scavengers and 1,700 staff nurses and render justice to them.

Three MLAs to stage dharna

At a separate press conference, three BJP MLAs Eatala Rajender, M Raghunandhan Rao and T Raja Singh took exception to the Assembly Speaker Pocharam Srinivas Reddy’s decision not to allow them to attend the budget session.

The MLAs termed the Speaker’s decision as undemocratic. “We met the Speaker in the morning with a copy of an order issued by the High Court and submitted our views. But the Speaker did not allow us to attend the session,” Rajender said.

He said the three party MLAs will stage a dharna on Thursday at Indira Park to protest the attitude of the State government in not allowing them to attend the session.
