Film producer and actor Bandla Ganesh on Friday withdrew his nomination from contesting MAA (Movie Artistes Association) elections that are slated to be held on October 10.
Bandla Ganesh, who has been a staunch supporter of Prakash Raj, had pledged complete support to the latter’s election panel ‘Maa Biddalu’ which was formed with a promise of addressing the issues of movie artistes. However, he didn’t get any post in the panel and announced that he would file nomination as an independent candidate and contest for the post of General Secretary of the welfare body.
However, in a complete u-turn on Friday, the actor surprised everyone by withdrawing nomination for the MAA polls. Bandla Ganesh dashed off a letter to the election official Krishna Mohan to cancel his candidature. “You are hence requested to treat my Nomination as canceled as I am no longer interested in contesting the elections. Inconvenience caused is regretted,” he mentioned in the letter.
Taking to his twitter handle, Bandla Ganesh announced that he is withdrawing his nomination for the post as per the suggestion from his well-wishers in the industry. At the same time, he said he would extend support to Prakash Raj’s MAA panel.
As many as 900 members of the association would elect the president of MAA on the voting day of October 10 at the Jubilee Hills Public School in Hyderabad.
