Bathukamma sarees a festival largesse from govt: Errabelli

Speaking on the occasion, Dayakar said that Bathukamma festival got global recognition due to the efforts of Telangana Jagruthi founder and former MP Kalvakuntla Kavitha

Warangal Urban: Minister for Panchayat Raj and Rural Development Errabelli Dayakar Rao along with Government Chief Whip Dasyam Vinay Bhaskar distributed the Bathukamma sarees to women at Waddepally park under 50th division in the city on Sunday.

Speaking on the occasion, Dayakar said that Bathukamma festival got global recognition due to the efforts of Telangana Jagruthi founder and former MP Kalvakuntla Kavitha and added that the State government was giving high priority to the Telangana festivals like Bonalu and Bathukamma which were ignored by the rulers of the united Andhra Pradesh. “Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao is offering the sarees to women as the festival largesse in the State,” he added.

Later, the Minister laid the foundation for the construction of the compound wall of veterinary hospital at Waddepally. MPs P Dayakar, B  Prakash, Mayor G Prakash Rao, GWMC Commissioner Pamela Satpathy, Corporator Dasyam Vijay Bhaskar and others attended the programme.
