Creating life is a beautiful thing, but we never know when we could lose it. It’s only been a month since my baby boy stepped foot in the world and he is already battling a deadly disease.

Where do we go from here?

My baby boy is a gift to us. After the joy our first son turned out to be, we hoped for another child. Our wish was fulfilled and for a month, we were overjoyed.

But then he was diagnosed with Hirschsprung’s Associated Enterocolitis. It is a rare disease and we are running out of time.

It all started with severe constipation that would not stop.

He was already tiny when he was born, but his weight continued to sink as time passed. He has an unusual swelling in his stomach and he was vomiting everything.

Several test results showed his intestines were swollen, and he had sepsis. That was when they made the diagnosis.

The news sank my heart. It felt like my little boy, who had just entered the world, would be taken from me so soon.

Doctors assured me that one surgery would be enough to cure my baby. My husband works as a security guard. He only earns seven thousand rupees per month, which is not enough.

“I saved every bit I had, I begged my family for money and somehow we arranged enough to afford the surgery my son needed”, my husband recalls.

Unfortunately, that one surgery revealed the problem ran deeper and he ended up needing a second surgery.

Doctors performed the second surgery but the recovery period is 8-10 weeks for which it is recommended he stay in the hospital.

This will cost at least Rs 15 lakh ($ 20026.69). That is an enormous amount of money and we have already sacrificed everything we had to bring him so far.

DONATE HERE:

My son spends most of his time heavily sedated. It’s very hard to watch.

As the amount needed is massive, I urge you to kindly donate to the care and support during this time of need. Every contribution is significant! Give my son the chance to lead a normal, healthy life.
