Hyderabad: Former Backward Classes Commission member Vakulabharanam Krishnamohan Rao on Sunday took strong exception to the remarks made by former Minister Eatala Rajender’s wife Jamuna against him, and advised them to stop mud-slinging against him. “Jamuna’s outburst against me during a press conference on Sunday reflects her attitude. I started my political career when I was a student and got recognition as a BC leader in the two Telugu speaking States for rendering services to the development of the community,” he said in a statement here.
Seeking answers from Rajender on the number of families that benefitted through his blessings, he asked: “Can the former Minister share the details?” Rajender had been dropped from the State Cabinet and no one from his Huzurabad Assembly constituency extended support to him, he said.
“It’s a humiliation for Rajender, a six time MLA and Minister for the last seven years, that he could not muster support from leaders in his constituency,” he said, adding that he was into politics from his student days and was continuing to render services to people.
He said he became a member of the BC Commission at a young age. “Rajender, however, was first a businessman and later joined politics. He used politics for business. With the help of BC leader R Krishnaiah, we brought out several schemes for the BC community,” Rao said. But Rajender, he said, was involved in it with the power he got after entering politics. “The Eatala family must check facts before making allegations against others. Rajender’s money and power are nothing compared to our self-respect,” he said. Rao said he had helped Rajender during the 2018 elections and stayed in Huzurabad constituency for more than a month.
