BC leader slams Congress Delhi protest as political drama
Former BC Commission chairman Vakulabharanam Krishna Mohan Rao criticised the Congress’s Delhi protest on BC reservations, calling it a publicity stunt. He urged the government to take the legal route and questioned the legitimacy of the hastily prepared BC reports
Hyderabad: Former Telangana BC Commission chairman Vakulabharanam Krishna Mohan Rao strongly criticised the Congress-led Delhi protest over BC reservations, calling it a publicity stunt aimed at impressing the AICC leadership rather than securing reservations. He suggested that the Congress take the legal course to realise BC reservations.
Speaking at a press meet here on Wednesday, Krishna Mohan Rao questioned why the State government had not pursued a Writ of Mandamus or used Article 143(1), like in the Tamil Nadu case, to seek clarity from the Supreme Court.
The BC leader accused the Revanth Reddy government of double standards, pointing out how the Busani Commission report was quietly submitted to the Chief Secretary, while the Justice Sudarshan Reddy Committee report was received with high-profile publicity. He said that the government, which took over 16 months for the probe into the Kaleshwaram project, completed the BC reservations exercise within a few days.
“Why were BC reservation reports kept under wraps, while the Kaleshwaram report was rushed out?” he asked.
Krishna Mohan Rao also questioned the legitimacy of the hastily prepared reports on BC rights and demanded that the government make them public.
“True justice for BCs will come through the courts, not politically staged protests,” he asserted.
