Hyderabad: The Begumpet police on Sunday arrested a man for stealing Rs 46 lakh from the office of his former employer two days ago.
The arrested man, Giridhar Singh (28), a resident of Madhya Pradesh, had worked at an office located at Patigadda for three years. Due to his inappropriate behaviour, Giridhar was removed from the office by the management six months ago.
“Giridhar knew that the managers kept a huge amount of cash in the locker in the office premises. On Friday night, he entered the office and after breaking open the cupboard, took away the Rs 46 lakh and fled,” said Rashmi Perumal, DCP (North).
On a complaint, the police registered a case and traced Giridhar to Adilabad while he was on his way to his native place. He was finally apprehended with the help of Adilabad police.
The amount was recovered from him. Giridhar was arrested and produced before the court.
