Hyderabad: Justice N Tukaramji of the Telangana High Court has declined to grant any positive relief to TV anchor and YSRCP spokesperson Syamala Reddy, who is one of the accused in a betting apps case registered by the Panjagutta police.
Despite her petition seeking to stay the investigation, the court refused to intervene and directed her to appear before the police station.
Syamala Reddy had approached the court through a lunch motion, requesting the suspension of the investigation into the case.
However, the court rejected her request and instructed her to appear before the Panjagutta police on Monday to receive the notices.
Following that, she has been directed to cooperate with the ongoing investigation.
The court also emphasised that the police should follow the guidelines set by the Supreme Court in the Arnesh Kumar case, which addresses the procedural requirements for arrest and investigation in criminal cases.
Advocate Gurram Raghu appeared on behalf of Syamala Reddy, while senior counsels Nandigam Krishna Rao and Akhil Ennamsetty represented the defacto complainant in the matter.
The investigation is still ongoing, with other accused individuals already having received notices from the police.
