Khammam: The Over Head Service Reservoirs (OHSRs) of Mission Bhagiratha have become the latest trend on social media in Khammam district.
Thanks to Transport Minister Puvvada Ajay Kumar, who came up with the idea of painting murals on the tanks depicting Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao’s portrait and the objectives of Mission Bhagiratha, the OHSRs have become a sight to behold.

The OHSR near the Khammam RTC bus stand has been attracting the public who are sharing pictures widely on social media. Speaking to ‘Telangana Today’ on Saturday, the Minister noted that murals were being drawn on around 30 overhead tanks in the Khammam city.
“Instead of painting the tanks plain, we have decided to give them a beautiful look, and there is a good response from the public to the initiative. I felt it very apt to have the Chief Minister’s mural on the tanks as he is ‘Bhagiratha’ of modern times,” the Minister said.
He said over 2.73 lakh households in 969 habitations in Khammam district have so far been provided with tap connections under the drinking water programme. The residents in Khammam city will get tap water every day soon.
The Minister said Rs 338.62 crore was spent on providing the tap connections and that 1,183 government schools and 1,528 Anganwadi centres are being supplied with the Bhagiratha water.
