Bhagyanagar Ganesh Utsav Samithi prepares for Ganesh immersion with RTA-approved vehicle tariffs
Over 1.4 lakh Ganesh pandals will immerse idols in Hyderabad this year. BGUS has set RTA-approved tariffs for vehicles, with trailers costing Rs 33,000 and smaller vehicles from Rs 1,000 upwards. Tokens and time slots will ensure smooth immersion on September 6
Hyderabad: The Bhagya Nagar Ganesh Utsav Samithi (BGUS) has decided to implement the tariff approved by the Regional Transport Authority (RTA), Hyderabad, for heavy goods vehicles, trailers, tuskers, medium goods vehicles, and light goods vehicles for Ganesh idol immersion on September 6.
“This year, more than 1.40 lakh Ganesh pandals are expected to be installed in the city. The pandal committees, depending on the height of the idol installed by them and other needs, will seek vehicles for immersion,” Ravinuthala Shashidhar, general secretary of the Bhagya Nagar Ganesh Utsav Samithi, told ‘Telangana Today’.
“Over 30 to 40 per cent of pandals will immerse their idols three to four days ahead of the main centralised immersion. Then, we would know the exact vehicles required for the main immersion,” he added.
In the lead-up to the three days of the idol immersion on September 6, the BGUS will issue tokens and allot time slots to the vehicles to carry the idols within the city, Shashidhar stated.
The RTA will handle the procurement of the vehicles and has already identified 12 vehicle pooling points in Hyderabad, Ranga Reddy, and other parts to ensure the immersion is peaceful. “RTA officials assured the provision of the required number of vehicles to ensure the immersion proceeds peacefully,” Shashidhar added.
Regarding Khairatabad Ganesh, a BGUS member said, “The Khairatabad Ganesh Utsav Committee will arrange a vehicle on their own to carry the 69-feet gigantic Ganesh idol on the immersion day.”
Idol Immersion – Hire Charges for vehicles:
Trailers/Tuskers: Rs 33,000 (Including fuel and batta charges)
HGV Tuskers (1/12 tyres): Rs 4,500 (fuel charges extra and Rs 500 for batta for driver and cleaner)
HGV 6 tyres: Rs 3,000
MGV: Rs 2,000
LGV: Rs 1,500
TATA Ace: Rs 1,000
