Sangareddy: Bharat Heavy Electricals Limited (BHEL), Hyderabad unit, has built its first indigenously developed oxygen plant within 35 days. Following an order from SLG Hospital, a Hyderabad-based private hospital, the BHEL built it in 35 days and handed it over to the hospital on Wednesday.
With the support of Centre for Industrial and Scientific Research-Indian Institute of Petroleum-Dehradun (CSIR-IIP), BHEL built the oxygen plant which has a capacity of generating 500 litres of oxygen per minute.
The signing of the MoU, developing a prototype and building the plant was completed in less than 40 days. The building of the plant took just 35 days.
After flagging off the vehicle carrying the plant from BHEL, Chairman and Managing Director of BHEL Dr Nalini Singhal said that they rose to the occasion to support the nation, when the Pandemic hit the country, by venturing into the Oxygen Plant Manufacturing.
Chairman and Managing Director of SLG Hospitals Siva Rama Raju, Executive Director BHEL-Hyderabad, PJ Reddy, Executive Director of SLG Hospitals DVS Somaraju and others were present.
