Nizamabad: The police on Friday nabbed a thief and seized 26 bikes from him, which were stolen from different locations under various police station limits of Nizamabad district. The arrested was identified as Mohammed Ahmed Hussain.
According to the Nizamabad DCP G Srinivas Kumar, Hussain stole bikes and sold them off to the mediators. Recently, he had stolen a bike belonging to a dermatologist residing at Khaleelwadi of Nizamabad city when the latter parked his bike in front of his hospital on April 1. Based on a complaint, the police took up the case. During the investigation, the police were conducting a patrol near the Bodhan bus stand area on April 9 and found a person who tried to flee on his two-wheeler upon seeing the police vehicle. The police suspected him and took him into their custody.
On questioning, he identified himself as Mohd Ahmed Hussain and confessed that he was trying to escape from the police as he was riding a stolen vehicle. During the investigation, the police discovered that he was involved in the theft of 26 two-wheelers from various police station limits of Nizamabad district.
