Birla Blazers beat Secunderabad Stallions 32-15 in HDBA Sub-Junior League

Birla Blazers defeated Secunderabad Stallions 32-15 in the Hyderabad District Basketball Association Sub-Junior and Youth League at YMCA, Secunderabad. Pranavi starred with 11 points, while Disha and Amrutha added eight points each to power their team to a comfortable victory.

Hyderabad: Birla Blazers scored a convincing, 32-15 win against Secunderabad Stallions after leading 14 – 5 at half time in the Sub-Junior & Youth League for boys and girls, organised by Hyderabad District Basketball Association, at YMCA Secunderabad here on Thusday.

Playing its first match of the tournament, Blazers started slowly with Pranavi and Amrutha playing in tandem to score five points and with tight defence did not allow Secunderabad Stallions to score any points as Birla Blazers led 5 – 0 at end of first quarter.

Birla Blazers found its bearings in the second quarter with Dishi scoring through fast-breaks. However, Stallions opened their Account through Adhya as Birla Blazers led 14 – 5 at half time.

Birla Blazer’s Nakshatra found her rhythm scoring four consecutive points and midway through the third quarter bridged the gap to just six6 points at 17 – 11, but Vaishnavi and Tanvi scored a basket apiece with both teams scoring eight points apiece and Birla Blazers led 22 – 13 at end of third quarter.

In the fourth quarter, Stallions tightened their defence and restricted to just two points and Pranavi scored eight consecutive points to win the match for Blazers comfortably.
