BITS Pilani WILP confers degrees on 15,153 professionals

Hyderabad: BITS Pilani’s Work Integrated Learning Programmes (WILP) marked a watershed moment in higher education, conferring degrees upon a record 15,153 working professionals across 30 specialised disciplines.
Held at the BITS Pilani Hyderabad campus, WILP Convocation 2026 brought together a cohort that doubled in size since last year, while extending the celebrations through an immersive virtual experience.
The ceremony was presided over by Atul B. Lall, Vice Chairman and Managing Director of Dixon Technologies, along with Prof. V. Ramgopal Rao, Vice Chancellor, BITS Pilani, and Prof. S. Gurunarayanan, Director-in-Charge (Off-Campus Programmes and Industry Engagement), BITS Pilani.
Technology and digital domains comprised 46 per cent of the graduating class, while 35 per cent represented critical engineering, manufacturing, and infrastructure sectors. The cohort also brought together over 2,000 women learners, 167 medical doctors, 60 defence personnel, and 80 international learners across 15 nations into a single, high-impact academic community.
Dr. Kumar Mangalam Birla, Chancellor of BITS Pilani, emphasised that India stands at a pivotal juncture in its economic journey, poised to lead the global knowledge and industrial order.
