BJP bigwigs to campaign for GHMC elections
BJP stalwarts including Union Home Minister Amit Shah, national president J P Nadda and Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath will campaign in Hyderabad in the coming days

Hyderabad: In an unusual move for a local bodies’ election, BJP stalwarts including Union Home Minister Amit Shah, national president J P Nadda and Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath will campaign in the State capital beginning on Thursday. The State unit on Wednesday announced a packed campaign schedule for these leaders aimed at contact campaigning with section of society particularly those from other States who have made Hyderabad their home.
While former Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis will release the party’s GHMC manifesto on Thursday, Yogi Adityanath will participate in road shows in Hyderabad and Chevella Parliamentary constituency on November 27. He will also address a public meeting during his campaign. Nadda will participate in an intellectuals meeting on November 28 and will also participate in a road show in Malkajgiri Parliamentary constituency.
On the last day of campaign, November 29, Union Home Minister Amit Shah will participate in a road show in Secunderabad Parliamentary constituency represented by his deputy G Kishan Reddy. “Already the State leadership has embarked on a door to door campaign to meet every single voter. We are involving all the available national leadership in the GHMC campaign to highlight the failures of the TRS party,” party OBC Morcha national president K Laxman said, addressing a press conference at the party office here on Wednesday.
Kishan Reddy said the party manifesto will stress more on infrastructure, housing and youth. “If voted to power in GHMC, we will concentrate on totally revamping the defunct storm drain system of the city on a war-footing so that there will be no flooding in the next monsoon season,” he said. State president Bandi Sanjay Kumar also participated in the press conference.
