Hyderabad: TRS legislators lashed out at the BJP government at the Centre and the State BJP leaders for making contradictory statements, leading to confusion among farmers in Telangana. They stated that without clarifying on the quantity of rice that the Centre was willing to procure, the State BJP leaders were instigating farmers in Telangana to cultivate paddy during the ensuing Yasangi season.

Addressing a press conference at the TRS Legislative Party office on Tuesday, Government Whip Balka Suman said the Telangana BJP leaders had lost their sensibilities. He said BJP MPs Bandi Sanjay and D Arvind were using unparliamentary language against Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao and other TRS leaders, as they could not give straight answers to the issues raised by the TRS government.

“The BJP State leaders are crossing their limits and unnecessarily using unparliamentary language while addressing the Chief Minister. We will not tolerate such abusive language anymore and would respond in their language for their better understanding of the ongoing issues,” he said.

Suman felt that the BJP appears to have developed a grudge against Telangana especially farmers and was targeting them by refusing to procure paddy. He stated that there was no logic in the issues raised by the BJP MPs as they themselves do not understand the crop pattern and agro-climatic conditions in Telangana. He accused the BJP State leaders of trying to encourage divisive politics in the State and cautioned that the TRS would not let it happen in near future.

MLAs S Saidireddy, Mutha Gopal, J Surender and others, who also spoke, said the Centre was not different from the East India Company which ruled the country for centuries together and suppressed the people of the country who raised voices against them or demanded their rights. They stated that the BJP government was only interested in benefiting the corporate companies, but not the poor farmers whom they are trying to mislead and use them for their political benefit.

Earlier, Public Undertakings Committee chairman A Jeevan Reddy also lashed out at the BJP leaders including Union Tourism Minister G Kishan Reddy for making misleading statements on paddy procurement. He said Kishan Reddy had failed the people of Telangana and could not even get Rs 10,000 crore for the development of the State, despite being a Union Minister.
