Mancherial: BJP cadres staged a dharna here on Saturday demanding stern action against Congress leaders allegedly involved in the suicide of Vemanapalli BJP mandal president Eta Madhukar. Protesters also burnt the effigy of the State government at IB Chowk in the town.
The party activists accused the police of registering false cases against Madhukar at the behest of Congress leaders, which they said forced him to take his life. Madhukar (45) died by hanging on the outskirts of Kothagudem hamlet under Neelwai gram panchayat in Vemanapalli mandal on Friday.
BJP leader Mukesh Goud demanded that Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy take moral responsibility for the incident and ensure justice for Madhukar’s family. He also urged the Chief Minister to arrest those responsible, while stating that BJP district president Venkateshwar Goud had brought the matter to the notice of the State DGP.
