Hyderabad: TRS working president and MA&UD Minister KT Rama Rao on Tuesday accused the BJP and Congress of colluding for Huzurabad Assembly constituency by-election on October 30. The Congress had fielded a dummy candidate to benefit BJP candidate Eatala Rajender, he said, and dared TPCC president A Revanth Reddy to prove him wrong by ensuring that Congress does not lose its deposit in the by-election.

He said this collusion was part of a larger plan to ensure Rajender’s win and later inviting him to join the Congress along with some other leaders. He said both Rajender and BJP do not seem to be comfortable with each other. He also stated that former MP and senior BJP leader G Vivek Venkatswamy might tag along with Rajender into the Congress. He reminded that another former MP Konda Vishweshwar Reddy had written a letter seeking votes for Rajender.

In an informal interaction with mediapersons at Telangana Bhavan here, Rama Rao recalled that BJP and Congress had colluded in the 2019 Lok Sabha polls that led to the defeat of TRS candidates in Nizamabad and Karimnagar Parliamentary constituencies, which were won by BJP.

“This time around, the TRS will win the Huzurabad bypoll. We have three Ministers and local legislators as well as other party leaders campaigning on behalf of our party candidate,” he said.
While the dates for poll campaign by TRS president and Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao are yet to be finalised, the TRS working president made it clear that he himself would not be campaigning in Huzurabad, stating that he had also not campaigned during Nagarjunasagar and Dubbak by-elections.
