BJP MP Raghunandan Rao receives threat call from person claiming to be Maoist
BJP Medak MP M Raghunandan Rao received a threat call from a person claiming to be a Maoist, warning of a plan to assassinate him. The caller said the group would arrive in Hyderabad by 10 PM. Police are investigating.

Sangareddy: Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader and Medak MP M Raghunandan Rao said he received a threatening phone call from an unidentified person claiming to be a Maoist. The caller allegedly warned that a group of Maoists was en route to Hyderabad from Madhya Pradesh with a plan to assassinate the MP.
The threat call was received on phone number 91 21433 52974 and was answered by the MP’s personal assistant, Vamshi, while Rao was attending a programme in Dammaiguda, Medchal-Malkajgiri district. Vamshi, who recorded the call, immediately informed Rao.
Acting swiftly, Raghunandan Rao contacted Sangareddy Superintendent of Police Paritosh Pankaj and Director General of Police Dr Jitendar to report the threat. According to Vamshi, the caller warned that the alleged Maoist group would reach Hyderabad by 10 PM on Monday and urged the MP to protect himself.
Authorities are investigating the origin and authenticity of the call.
