Hyderabad: The Telangana BJP received a setback in Nizamabad district as its Nandipet MPTC Aruna Chawan quit the party and joined TRS on Sunday.
She joined TRS in the presence of MLC K Kavitha, MLA A Jeevan Reddy and other leaders. Aruna and her supporters found fault with the BJP State president Bandi Sanjay Kumar for comparing farmers with Khalistan to derive political mileage during his visit to Nandipet.
MP Dharmapuri Arvind won the Lok Sabha elections in 2019 promising to set up a turmeric board in the district. But he deceived farmers since he failed to establish the board even after completion of three years. The leaders said that Arvind would not get deposit in the next elections.
