Hyderabad: BJP State president N Ramchander Rao argued that Union Minister of State for Home Bandi Sanjay Kumar had not committed any mistake.

“Had Bandi Sanjay committed any mistake, the party would definitely have taken action against him. But Bandi Sanjay did not make any mistake,” Ramchander Rao said here on Monday.

Speaking to media persons, the BJP State president said that if Bandi Sanjay’s son or any other family members had committed any offence, legal action would be initiated against them. Unable to face the BJP politically, some parties were trying to defame the BJP, he alleged.

Targeting an individual and the party, BRS leaders had allegedly spent crores on posters besides using social media platforms, he claimed.

“Seeking anticipatory bail is a legal step and should not be viewed as running away. Since anticipatory bail was not granted, he (Bandi Sai Bhageerath) surrendered before the police. There is a legal provision for this and nothing unusual about it,” Ramchander Rao said.

Referring to crimes against women during the BRS regime, he questioned whether any BRS leaders had resigned from their posts at that time. He alleged that the BRS legal cell, social media team, and some retired police officers were continuously focusing on the POCSO case.

“BRS should fight us politically or step aside. It should not indulge in personal attacks,” Ramchander Rao added.
