Hyderabad: Ahead of municipal elections, BJP State unit suffered a setback with former BRS MLA Aroori Ramesh announcing his ‘ghar wapsi’ to the Bharat Rashtra Samithi.
In a statement released on Monday, Ramesh said he had resigned from the primary membership of the BJP. He thanked the party’s senior leaders, activists and cadre for the support extended to him during his stint with the saffron party.
“I have decided to join BRS back, my home party, along with my followers and leaders,” Ramesh said in the statement.
The former MLA from Wardhannapet had joined the BJP in March 2024. He later contested the Warangal parliamentary constituency as a BJP candidate but lost to Kadiyam Kavya, who had joined the Congress after quitting the BRS.
