Rajanna-Sircilla: BJP and Vishva Hindu Parishad activities on Wednesday staged a protest at Vemulawada Rajarajeshwaraswamy temple executive officer’s chamber against abnormal hike in prices of various pujas in the shrine.
Led by BJP district president Pratapa Ramakrishna, the activists demanded that temple authorities reduce the hiked prices of different pujas. In this regard, they also handed over a representation to EO Krishnaprasad.
On Tuesday, the Endowment Department Commissioner issued GO by increasing the prices of various pujas. The price of Rajarajeshwaraswamy Kalyanam has been enhanced to Rs 1,500 from Rs 1,000, Maha Rudrabishekam and Annapuja Rs 1,000 from Rs 600.
In Someswaralayam, the price of Abhishekam increased to Rs 500 from Rs 200, Annapuja Rs 500 from Rs 150, Satyanarayana Vratam Rs 600 from Rs 400 and Kumkuma Puja Rs 300 from Rs 150. In Bheemeshwaralayam, the Abhishekam charge has been hiked to Rs 200 from Rs 100, and Navagraha Puja Rs 300 from Rs 100.
