Hyderabad: BJP State president Bandi Sanjay Kumar on Friday reiterated his controversial stand that the party will carry out surgical strikes on old city to flush out illegal Rohingyas if voted to power in GHMC, and then went a step further to state: “BJP activists will not hesitate to take law into their hands if the State government fails to discharge its duties.”

Speaking during a road show near Singareni colony here, he said BJP was determined to drive away Rohingyas and Pakistanis from old city as they had openly demonstrated their hatred towards India often. “They eat India’s food, breath India’s air and sing songs in praise of Pakistan. They will be kicked out of the country through the surgical strikes,” he said.

The BJP president against put the foot in his mouth when he announced that the BJP, if it wins the GHMC elections, will ensure that all teachers and lecturers working in private institutions in the city are paid salaries. “The party will release Rs 150 crore as government’s share,” he said, without substantiating on how it intended to do that when the TRS is in power in the State.

Criticising Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao for declaring himself as a true Hindu, Sanjay said that “by merely getting his photographs performing yagams published in newspapers, he can’t be considered as Hinduism.” “The Chief Minister is now playing the Hindu card because he has realised that the voters of the city have decided to give a chance to BJP,” he said.

The BJP leader then accused the State government of creating a fear psychosis among the voters by stating that the government had credible information about impending communal riot in the city. “If the Chief Minister has information, why is he hesitating from arresting those people?” he asked and called upon voters not to be afraid and cast their votes on polling day.

He claimed that the Narendra Modi government at the Centre had approved Rs 3,500 crore for the construction of 2BHK houses in the State and the TRS failed to hand over even a single 2BHK house to the poor in the city.
