Hyderabad: Film actress and senior BJP leader Vijayashanti here on Wednesday said the party would strive for the welfare of all sections of the society.

Addressing media persons after paying tributes to Dr BR Ambedkar on the occasion of his birth anniversary celebrations, she said the party would not tolerate any repressive measures against the people.

Telangana State BJP president Bandi Sanjay Kumar, who was also present on the occasion, recalled that Ambedkar fought against inequalities and brought social reforms. Ambedkar was the architect of Indian Constitution, he said. Sanjay said the party has organised the celebrations across the State and added that the Prime Minister Narendra Modi was extending financial aid to the youth from weaker sections by giving a loan of Rs.1 crore to Rs.5 crore without any bank guarantee.

The loans were given to make the youth from Dalit community into entrepreneurs. This was the commitment of the Prime Minister towards the youth, he said, adding that the Central government allocated Rs.25,000 crore for the purpose. He said scholarships were also given to the youth from Dalit community to enable them resume their studies that were discontinued due to various problems. The Central government has allocated Rs.59,000 crore to give scholarships for these students.

He demanded that the State government complete the construction of 125-feet tall statue of Ambedkar at the earliest.
