BJP workers detained during protest over attack on gau rakshak in Hyderabad

Police detained several BJP workers and leaders, including Malkajgiri MP Etala Rajender, when they attempted to march to the Telangana DGP’s office to protest the attack on gau rakshak Prashanth Kumar, who was shot and injured in Ghatkesar.

Hyderabad: Several workers of the Bharatiya Janata Party were taken into preventive custody by the police when they tried to march towards the Telangana DGP office to hold a protest to condemn the attack on a gau rakshak.

Prashanth Kumar alias Sonu Singh, was injured when a cattle trader Ibrahim allegedly shot at him with a country made pistol at Pocharam IT corridor area near Ghatkesar on Wednesday .

Following the incident, the BJP and other Hindu organizations had given a protest call. The police had beefed up security around Lakdikapul and Public Gardens in view of the protest call.

Several BJP leaders including Malkajgiri MP, Etala Rajendra and others were taken into preventive custody by the police.
