Boating service launched at Warangal’s Madannapet tank
People’s representatives from Narsampet, Madannapet and officials attended the programme
Warangal Rural: The State government, which is striving hard to develop tourist places as well as urban lung spaces for recreation of people by renovating tanks and developing ‘mini tank bunds’ in the State, introduced boating facility at Madannapet tank near Narsampet town in the district on Saturday. The boating service was formally inaugurated by local MLA Peddi Sudharshan Reddy.
Speaking on the occasion, the lawmaker said that he was striving a lot for the promotion of the tourism activities in his constituency and reminded that he had promised to develop mini tank bund for Madannapet tank besides filling it with the Godavari water.
“I am very much happy to inaugurate the boating service in the tank. It will be very useful for the people living in Narsampet town and surrounding villages. I will also strive to get Rs 4 crore additional funds for the development of the mini tank bund being built at the tank,” he said adding that he had already fulfilled the promise of bringing the Godavari water into the tank.
“I will also strive to improve the facilities further at the historic Pakhal Lake near Narsampet,” he added.
Meanwhile, tourism department officials said that the seating capacity of the boat is 20. They have fixed the price for the boat ticket to be Rs 50 each for adults and Rs 30 each for children. People’s representatives from Narsampet, Madannapet and officials have attended the programme.
