Sangareddy: The body of a man who was swept away in the Narinja stream at Pottipally in Jharasangam mandal on Monday evening was recovered by rescue teams on Wednesday afternoon.
The victim was identified as Bondla Bhaskar (45), a resident of the same village. He had gone to the stream to offer gana puja on Monday evening after it came alive for the first time this season. Bhaskar is believed to have slipped into the water accidentally and was carried away by the strong current.
With the stream in full flow, it took nearly 48 hours for rescue teams to retrieve the body. The incident has left the village in shock.
