Bogus immigration consultancy allegedly dupes job seekers of lakhs

A Begumpet immigration consultancy allegedly cheated job seekers from Telangana and Andhra Pradesh by promising overseas jobs and visas. More than 11 victims have approached police in the past two months, alleging losses of lakhs of rupees. Police are investigating.

Hyderabad: A bogus immigration consultancy in Begumpet allegedly cheated hundreds of job seekers from Telangana and Andhra Pradesh by promising overseas jobs and visas.

As per information available, Flying Borders Immigration Consultancy, located at Saptagiri Towers in Prakash Nagar, reportedly collected lakhs of rupees from employees, students and farmers before its operator, Sowjanya, shut the office and fled around four months ago.

Begumpet police had earlier arrested Sowjanya based on complaints from victims. She was later released on bail.

As more victims learnt that the consultancy had closed, they approached the police. More than 11 people have filed complaints in the past two months, alleging that they lost lakhs of rupees. The Begumpet Police are investigating the case and the total number of victims.
