Bomb threat reported on British Airways flight BA 277 at Hyderabad airport
A bomb threat linked to British Airways flight BA 277 from London prompted an emergency at Hyderabad’s Rajiv Gandhi International Airport early Friday. The flight landed safely, passengers were evacuated, and bomb disposal teams conducted thorough checks while security was heightened.
Hyderabad: An emergency was reportedly declared at Rajiv Gandhi International Airport, after authorities received a bomb threat linked to British Airways flight BA 277 arriving from London here on Friday early hours.
According to reports, the threat alert was issued around 5 am, prompting immediate activation of emergency response protocols. The flight, which was scheduled to land at 5.30 am, touched down safely before time, with 167 passengers, including two infants, along with two pilots and eight cabin crew members.
The aircraft was immediately moved to an isolated bay, where bomb disposal teams, security agencies, and airport police began thorough checks. Passengers were safely evacuated and escorted to the terminal.
Officials are investigating the threat aspect and additional security measures have been put in place across the airport premises.
Security agencies continue their verification process with the help of local police.
